Entry Requirements
We want everyone to feel they can enter! So all you need is…
- Retford Snooker Club Membership
If you do not have a handicap, please contact the club, and let’s get one sorted for you!
Typical questions to help find your handicap…
- Have you competed in a handicap snooker competition before? If so, what was your handicap?
- What is your highest break / when did you make it?
- What kind of breaks would you say are your average?
- Have you played anyone in the club that we could use as a bench mark how to handicap you?
The Points System
Points are awarded after each week to players in the following format…
- Winner: 20
- Runner-up: 15
- Semi Final: 10
- Quarter Final: 6

The players with the highest points score at the end are entered into the End of Season Top 8 Shootout!

Handicaps
Handicaps will be adjusted each week in 7s (7, 14, 21 etc)
- Winner: -8
- Runner-up: -6
- Semi Final: -4
- Quarter Final: -2
- Last 16: +2 if loses first match after a bye to last 8
- Last 64: +3
There will also be a maximum start given of 60 in any match
e.g. If a scratch player is playing a player with an 60 start, then they will only have to give 60 per frame.
Please note, we maintain the right to adjust a player’s handicap at any time if we believe that it is incorrect.
An example of this would be if a player improves dramatically in a short time and therefore their handicap needs to reflect this or if it becomes clear that a player’s original handicaps were wrong.

Double Point Events
There will be 2 tournaments worth double points:
- One to start the season.
- One before the end of season finals.
Joker Card
You will also have the opportunity to play your joker card during the season, earning you Double Points for that tournament!
So don’t worry if you find yourself low on points, with this you can top up your points using your joker.
